依克多因又叫四氫甲基嘧啶羧酸。依克多因使嗜鹽菌免受傷害，它有兩大功能：

Ecdoine is also called tetrahydro methyl pyrimidine carboxylic acid. Ectoine protects halophilic bacteria from harm, and it has two functions:

1）保濕：它是維持滲透壓平衡的重要物質(zhì)，其獨(dú)特分子結(jié)構(gòu)具有很強(qiáng)的水分子絡(luò)合能力，能使細(xì)胞內(nèi)的游離水結(jié)構(gòu)化，是非常優(yōu)秀的天然保濕劑。

Moisturizing: It is an important substance to maintain the balance of osmotic pressure. Its unique molecular structure has a strong ability to complex water molecules and can structure the free water in cells. It is an excellent natural moisturizer.

2）修復(fù)：依克多因能對抗紫外線對皮膚的傷害，修復(fù)紫外線導(dǎo)致的細(xì)胞DNA損傷。
